I've been a paying subscriber to emusic for about a year. For my $9.95 a month I probably download an average of 10 CDs/Month. While they do not have 'all the best albums by all the biggest names' they do offer a consistent assortment of very interesting artists, with a mix of new, old, and especially good offerings in target genre's such as blues, comedy, jazz, and american roots.
I use AllMusic.com to research the artists and CDs available at emusic, to find out which are the good albums, who should I check out in Blues or Jazz, and generally to once in a while hear something other than Dylan or Costello.
You can see what I've downloaded in the list at right.
