Live on a soundstage in NYC, with a full compliment of backing musicians and singers, Elvis and Burt play through much of Painted From Memory as well as songs from each of their respective songbooks. Wonderfully shot and recorded, this is the perfect video capture of a concert and collaboration that began on answering machines and via fax, as we've been so famously told and retold.

This isn't really a show about Elvis, he's just a backing musician and sometime background singer in the amazing recording of Roy Orbison along with Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, and nearly a dozen others. It's a fantastic show, impressive performances, and while EC isn't the centerpiece it's nice to see him in such impressive company. |

This performance was orginally a hour performance on the LATER show in the UK. Here EC plays some songs with the Attractions, does some solo performances, and plays with the Brodsky Quartet. A good diverse set list and great performances. |

This unexplainable video finds Elvis lip-synch'ing to his own songs, with the Brodsky Quartet playing (pretending to play?) behind him on the soundstage. Why didn't they just record and release one of the excellent live shows in which these songs were performed? |
